Bush Homeplace, Inman, South Carolina
Prepared nomination forms and extensive documentation for listing
on the National Register of Historic Places. This extended I-House
was built in 1831 and is an excellent example of an antebellum farm
house in the upcountry of South Carolina. It was approved by the
state review board in March, 2003 and was listed on the National
Register of Historic Places in the fall of 2003.
McWhirter House, Jonesville, South Carolina
Prepared National Register of Historic Places nomination as consultant
for the property owners. Researched architectural and historical
significance of this distinctive Neoclassical Revival residence that
was built in 1909. The nomination included extensive documentation
on the architectural significance as well as historical research
on the McWhirter's family association with the growth of Jonesville.
The nomination was approved by the state review board in July, 2002
and forwarded by the SHPO to the Department of the Interior for listing
on the National Register of Historic Places.
Hugh Aiken House, Greenville, South Carolina
Prepared National Register of Historic Places nomination as consultant
for the property owners. Researched architectural significance of
this distinctive, 1952 single-family residence designed by noted
South Carolina architect Willie Ward. A comprehensive report and
documentation accompanying Department of the Interior forms was submitted
to the South Carolina SHPO and subsequently presented to the state
review board in July, 2002. It was approved by the board and forwarded
by the SHPO to the Department of the Interior for listing on the
National Register of Historic Places.
Liberty Hall Inn - Pendleton, South Carolina
Researched historical and architectural significance for property
owners to determine eligibility for listing on the National Register
of Historic Places. Submitted in-depth report including Department
of the Interior Preliminary Information Form to the South Carolina
Department of Archives and History in August, 2001.
Morgan House - Central, South Carolina
Completed Department of the Interior nomination forms for this 1893 Queen Anne residence that was altered prior to 1917 with Classical Revival modifications. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in March, 2001 under criteria B (significance of the Morgan family in Central's history) and criteria C (architectural significance).
McBee Country House - Greenville, South Carolina
Compiled Historic Materials and Maintenance Report for the property owner (Ms. Judy Cromwell) of this historically significant Greek Revival cottage that was the summer cottage of Vardry McBee. The report covered an assessment of existing conditions and recommended preservation and rehabilitation plans.
Hand Building - Pelham, Georgia
Prepared a feasibility study for the property owner and the Georgia State Historic Preservation Office regarding possible adaptive uses for this historic commercial structure.
American Cigar Factory - Greenville, South Carolina
Prepared a feasibility study for the owner on historic tax credits available with the rehabilitation of the structure. Completed Historic Preservation Certification Application Part 2 and background history on this National Register property.
Carolina Supply Company Building - Greenville, South Carolina
Completed Department of the Interior nomination forms for this 1914 utilitarian Renaissance Revival commercial structure. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. Also completed Historic Preservation Certification Applications Part 1 and 2 for feasibility study of tax credits.
